The need for ruggedized components
capable of functioning in uncontrolled environments has increased as the
reach of fiber optic technology has continued to push closer to homes
and businesses. Unfortunately, standard Telcordia dictated operating temperature
ranges are limited, resulting in the current generation of fiber optic
components that cannot perform under extreme conditions. However, OptiWorks
is enabling a new generation of fiber optic technology, deployable virtually
anywhere, with the introduction of the X-Therm
family of products.
OptiWorks’ X-Therm
Grade line of thin film components are guaranteed to meet all performance
parameters over the extended operating temperature range of –40°C
to +85°C. OptiWorks’ X-Therm
products are based on a combination of proven thin film filter technology
and OptiWorks’ own proprietary X-Therm
manufacturing process.
OptiWorks is a leader in the manufacture and development
of fiber optic components based on proven thin film filter technology. By applying its
proprietary X-Therm manufacturing
process, OptiWorks has produced single- and multi-channel thin film modules
that exhibit excellent performance over the extended operating temperature
range of –40°C to +85°C. Comprehensive testing and customer
feedback have proven that OptiWorks’ X-Therm
grade thin film components meet the insertion loss, isolation, PDL, return
loss, and directivity requirements of communication system manufacturers
who require operational guarantees over an extreme temperature range.
